STAR interview method for students (India)
What STAR stands for
- Situation — one sentence of context (course project, internship, fest).
- Task — your responsibility, not the whole team's.
- Action — specific steps you took (tools, decisions, trade-offs).
- Result — measurable outcome or honest learning if it failed.
Prepare five core stories
Leadership, conflict, failure, tight deadline, and learning something fast. Map each to a resume bullet so answers stay consistent with your PDF. Inconsistency is a red flag in campus panels.
Practice with a timer
Aim for 90–120 seconds per answer. Use our free interview coach to draft STAR blocks and export a one-page prep sheet.
