How to create Binance read-only API keys
Smitvi AI needs read-only access to show balances and analytics. Never enable
withdrawals, spot trading, or futures trading permissions for our app.
Why read-only?
Read-only API keys let apps view account data (balances, positions) without moving funds. You stay in control on Binance; Smitvi AI cannot execute trades or withdrawals.
Steps on Binance
- Log in to Binance → Profile → API Management.
- Create a new API key (label it e.g. Smitvi read-only).
- Complete 2FA verification.
- Under permissions, enable only what you need for portfolio view — typically Enable Reading. Do not enable withdrawals or trading unless you understand the risk.
- Copy the API Key and Secret once shown. Store the secret securely; Binance may not show it again.
- In Smitvi AI, paste the key and secret in the connect flow.
Security tips
- Restrict IP if Binance offers it and you use a fixed connection (optional).
- Revoke the key immediately if you stop using Smitvi AI or suspect exposure.
- Never share keys in screenshots, chat, or email.
- Use a unique key for Smitvi — not the same key as trading bots.
Google sign-in alternative
If the app supports Google sign-in for Binance, you may connect without manual API keys. Follow in-app prompts; the same read-only principle applies.
Troubleshooting
- Invalid permissions — ensure Reading is enabled.
- Sync delay — large accounts may take a minute on first connect.
