How it works

Offer letters quote CTC, but rent and EMI depend on in-hand pay. This tool separates fixed pay, a simple PF estimate, and a rough income-tax estimate so you can compare jobs honestly. Always confirm with your employer payroll or a tax professional.

Formula

Take-home ≈ (CTC − bonus) / 12 − employee PF − professional tax − (annual tax ÷ 12). Tax uses simplified illustrative slabs — not a filing engine.

Examples

₹6 LPA, new regime

Fixed pay ₹6,00,000, basic 40%, PF 12% of basic → monthly PF ≈ ₹2,400. After illustrative new-regime tax and ₹200 professional tax, take-home is typically in the mid ₹40,000s depending on exemptions assumptions.

Comparing two offers

A ₹8 LPA role with high variable may net less monthly cash than a ₹7 LPA all-fixed role. Run both CTCs with their bonus fields before you accept.

FAQs

Is this an official income-tax calculator?

No. Slabs and deductions are simplified for education. Use the Income Tax Department tools or a CA for filing.

Does it include HRA or 80C?

Not in detail. The old-regime path applies a small illustrative standard deduction only. Treat results as planning estimates.

Who is this for?

Students evaluating internships/offers, job seekers comparing CTCs, and anyone budgeting a first salary.
