Ethereum L2 fees ease — what holders should track next
Layer-2 fee relief can revive retail activity, but bridging and sequencer risk still matter for long-term ETH holders.
Fee relief is not risk relief
Lower L2 fees often increase transaction counts. That does not automatically reduce smart-contract, bridge, or sequencer risk.
Holder-focused metrics
- Stablecoin transfer volume on major L2s
- Bridge TVL concentration
- ETH staking queue and withdrawal backlog
Bottom line
Treat fee dashes as activity signals. Keep custody and bridging hygiene separate from short-term gas screenshots.
